Okay...

I'm needing a little help here (and some work) and possibly a referral or two.

Love love love the caterer (Aimee D'Maris Events) I have been working with lately but wedding season is (essentially) over. It's been a little slow--and I have been trying to get back into bartending. I'm pretty sure I want to keep doing the "gig thing" as it is always fresh and new--and interesting--and I like the challenge/problem solving aspect of it (within reason).

So... I am on a website gig thing called Thumbtack--which SEEMS to be a lot of (pardon the expression) "bottom feeders" who are looking for a bargain.

You almost always get what you pay for...

I'm not giving up, though. There's got to be a clientele somewhere out there that appreciates my sly sense of humor; my innate ability to "dress up or dress down" as needed; and wants a bartender who is in complete command of the English language and can put full sentences together with multi-syllable words and might actually know a little about wine and craft brews. Hugely important, I think wedding items online store sale ;-)

I've tried leaving my phone number in truck stops around the Bay Area but that has not worked so well--something about "Looking for a bartender with lot's of big ice? Call 555-1666" just wasn't getting the kind I response I had hoped for. I did get a few GOP legislators responding--who sent a few revealing texts--but that was not exactly what I had in mind...

...and then there is this whole Roy Moore thing out there--where people want eye candy (generally young and dumb) behind the bar. Geezus. I am the Whitman Sampler marked 70% off at the drug store and not "bonafide eye candy" --not at my age...

So, if you have actually seen me in action behind the bar or just keeping a classroom or fly fishing group entertained--or holding forth at some other social event of the season, would you go to my THUMBTACK page and write some sort of glowing "review"?
